What exactly is Tanky and how does it work?

Tanky is a portable, CO₂-powered drink dispenser with a real tap. You fill the tank with any pre-mixed drink, twist in a 16g CO₂ cartridge to pressurise it, and pull the tap to pour. No power, no batteries, no ice needed, just fill, gas, and pour. The CO₂ keeps your drink pressurised and pushes it through the tap line, so every pour comes out clean and cold.

What's the difference between the Mini 2L and the Big 5L?

The Mini 2L does 10-12 standard pours and is built for solo adventures, couples, boats, beach days, and anywhere portability matters. It fits in most esky spaces and most backpacks. The Big 5L does 25-30 pours, it's your BBQ, party, and event unit. Same pour quality, just more of it. If you regularly host 6+ people, get the Big. Otherwise the Mini is your daily.

My Tanky won't pour, just dribbles or nothing.

9 times out of 10 it's CO₂ not seating. (1) Check the cartridge is tightened until you hear hiss-then-stop. If it just keeps hissing, the seal isn't seating, back it off and re-tighten. If it never hisses, the cartridge isn't being pierced. (2) Check the keg isn't past the max-fill line, too full and there's no headspace for pressure. If both look right and it's still dribbling, the tap assembly may have a stuck o-ring, email us, we'll ship a replacement under warranty.

How do I clean Tanky after use?

Empty any remaining liquid. Rinse with warm soapy water. Then flush the tap line: fill with clean water, gas it, and pour through until clear. Air-dry with the lid off. Two minutes, no chemicals, no dishwasher needed.

Which CO₂ cartridges do I need?

Standard 16g threaded food-grade CO₂ cartridges, the same ones used in soda chargers and some bike pumps. They're widely available globally. Tanky sells 5-, 10-, and 20-packs in the store. One cartridge per 2L fill. Two for the 5L.

How fast is shipping?

Most orders arrive within 2-5 business days. In Australia your CO₂ cartridges ship in the box by ground freight; in the US and New Zealand, CO₂ is dangerous goods we can't post in just yet, so grab compatible 16g cartridges from any homebrew, kitchenware, or sporting-goods store for now (direct US delivery is coming once our US warehouse is live). We currently ship tanks to Australia, the USA, and New Zealand.

How do I make a warranty or fault claim?

Email hello@tanky.com.au with your order number and a photo or short video showing the issue. The team uses that to pinpoint the fault and send the right fix, usually a quick replacement part (tap set or regulator), or a full unit if it needs one. Most faults are a simple part swap, so it's sorted fast.

What should I NOT put in it, and why?

Anything that won't pour clean from a tap. The main ones: raw pulp, fruit chunks, and whole herbs (they clog the line, so strain juice and garnish the glass instead); dairy or cream (build the clean base in Tanky and add milk in the glass after pouring); and blended or frozen slushies (they won't flow through the tap). Shaken sours and muddled cocktails like a mojito or old fashioned are built per glass, not kegged. Everything else, if you can pour it cold, you can Tanky it.
